"Tzibur" is Hebrew for community, based on a root concept that every sacred community is created and sustained through the collective presence of its members, lay leaders, clergy and professionals.

I created Tzibur Strategies because I love congregations and the people who lead them!

Rabbi Amy Levin

I grew up in suburban New Jersey and was just about the only kid who actually liked going to Hebrew School!  A Religious School geek.  The result was that my childhood sacred community, my synagogue, was a haven, a home away from home that supported me, enriched my experience growing up, gave me opportunities to spread my leadership wings.

At 11 years old, I knew I wanted to be a rabbi and I knew that congregations were going to be my passion.  I want everyone to have the opportunity to be part of a great community: a place with a shared sense of the holy, a place where everyone feels supported and appreciated and needed.  A congregation needs to be healthy in order to be that for its members. That's what Tzibur Strategies is about.

I've had the privilege of leading congregations, teaching, mentoring and advising congregational leaders in Israel and the United States.  I have trained as a congregational consultant, served as a mentor for senior rabbinical students and helped two congregations in transition as their interim rabbi.  My interest and expertise is congregational leadership:

  • fostering productive, healthy leadership teams based on a collaborative process.

  • supporting individual leaders through strategic advising.

  • helping congregational leadership teams envision, plan and move forward without leaving their members behind.
